Kelly Jones is Co-Founder and lead teacher
Kelly Jones is the Co-Founder of Chillasana Yoga Surf in Playa Carrillo, Costa Rica. Her family business has been serving the local community for a little over 12 years. Kelly is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher. With decades of yoga practice, 12 years teaching and guiding small group retreats she has witnessed first hand how potent the ancient teachings of yoga are to promote healing, transformation and growth. Kelly teaches Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Power Yoga, Gentle Hatha, yin, Yoga Nidra and Multi Barre. Her teachings are a powerful exploration of self inquiry & reflection partnered with simple tools and practices to help support each student in their own experience. It is Kelly’s mission to support you in unleashing your potential while remaining present, grounded and in your power.
Kenneth Graham is Co-Founder and lead teacher
Kenneth is registered at the highest level ERYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and has taught over 20 Teacher Trainings around the world and studied for over 20 years with numerous influential teachers, across diverse and intriguing philosophies.
He has drawn on Darren Rhodes and Paul and Suzee Grilley for some of his deepest inspiration on how he currently teaches asana. Students love his eclectic nature. He has a unique ability as a teacher to make material accessible to students and is able to unite diverse teachings from asana to meditation to philosophy in a fresh and lively way. His mission is to bring together a community of teachers who are confident and well rounded in their knowledge and wisdom.
Laura Waite Co-Teacher
Laura Waite is an Intuitive, Bodyworker, Lightworker, Color Therapist and Yoga Teacher. Her goal is to ignite the flame of remembrance within you. Laura is simply a guide that lights a pathway home, holding space for your own healing and inner awareness to emerge. After all, “the light that you seek resides in your own inner lantern.”
Laura has been a dedicated yoga practitioner for over 20 years and a yoga teacher since 2010. She leads an intuitive Vinyasa practice rooted in the teachings of Ashtanga Yoga paired with the mindfulness of Functional Yoga. Her extensive study and experience with body and energy work influence her flow and teachings of the practice.
Laura will always be a student and teach from the transformational power of yoga which she has experienced. She acknowledges that the students that show up to practice with her are equally her teacher and together we all uplift each another.
Bhakti Foster Co-Teacher
Bhakti is a graduate of Integral Yoga through Satchidananda Ashram. She has studied Yoga and Ayurveda Medicine for over twenty five years in the US and in India and gives big thanks to all of her teachers. Bhakti is certified in Hatha, Vinyasa, Kids and Accessible Yoga with over 1000 hours in yoga trainings. In addition, Bhakti is an Ayurveda Health Practitioner at the 1500 hour level
through Kerala Ayurveda Academy in India and the US. She incorporates Ayurveda in her own life practices as well as her yoga classes. Her approach to yoga is gentle and meditative even when she is teaching a Vinyasa flow. She has a passion for playing her harmonium and opens all her classes with chanting and
pranayama. Bhakti founded and ran her own yoga studio Shanti Om Yoga in Staunton, Virginia and in Portland Oregon for 16 years. She has led numerous yoga retreats to India, Costa Rica and Guatemala and has also led several 200 hour teacher trainings at her studio in Portland, Oregon. Bhakti now lives in Costa Rica where she runs an airbnb and continues to offer yoga classes, retreats and Ayurveda services.
Carlene McDavid Co-Teacher
Carlene has been interacting with the world through movement for most of her life. A dancer from a young age, Carlene trained and performed extensively in classical ballet, jazz and contemporary. Thus, when she discovered yoga some years later, she immediately felt a strong soul connection. Yoga brought a new layer of spirituality and intention to Carlene’s movement.
Carlene faithfully completed her 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training at Toronto’s esteemed Mula Yoga Studio, under the direction of internationally acclaimed yoga teacher Hana Lukac. Since then, she has gone on to acquire certifications in Yin + Mindfulness and Yoga Nidra, amongst others.
Carlene’s classes are experienced as a moving meditation. Incorporating seamless flows, breath (pranayama), mantra and an emphasis on the subtle (energy) body, Carlene gracefully guides her students towards new discoveries on the mat. She is forever seeking opportunities to deepen her practice, while sharing the wisdom of yoga to all.

The Samara Yoga training experience is designed to support you in going deeper into your practice, and into the heart of the teachings of yoga so that you can embody your yoga. During the training, you'll experience your own inner transformation and evolution, and as you connect with your inner wisdom and gifts.
